Sista Wives Rock!!

We love our new found sista wives hood. It’s awesome!  We cook, clean and shop in half the time. Everything is easier when you have a buddy ( i.e. Buddy System – a procedure in which two people, “the buddies”, operate together as a single unit so that they are able to monitor and help each other). For example when cooking, Richelle chops and Jenn cooks (or vice versa) which cuts down tremendously on the preparation time. This way we have more time to relax and drink wine rather than be  a slave to the kitchen.  So one night while cooking dinner we decide hey,  it's a great time for us to try and lose weight and get in shape. Let's take advantage of our situation of having a live-in buddy and become the best individual selves we can possibly be… together.  Now we know this is no small feat and will come with ups and downs, triumphs and failures, but we will be cheering each other on every step of the way.  It will be like our own mini Amazing Race except if we win there won't be any cash involved, but losing weight and looking/feeling great about ourselves is way better than any prize money, right? Well, it sure would come in handy to buy our new smaller sized clothes. Anyway, Richelle chose the slow carb diet (based on The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss) for us to try and here is why. The big perks to this diet are 1.) you get 2 glasses of  red wine a night (hallelujah! that's music to our ears) and 2.) after 6 days on the diet, you get to “Cheat” on the 7th day. That’s right, you can eat everything and anything you have been craving and your mind tells you that you so deservedly want and need for a 24 hr period!!! We are not suggesting that everyone try this diet, it’s just the one we are choosing to try on our weight loss journey. So wish us luck and keep checking back in as we will keep you abreast of our progress. Cheers!

Two Bees in a Pod

Ok, so now that Jenn & Richelle are roommates again, we have found our groove in co-habitation. We have become synchronized ("to cause to go on, move, operate, work, etc., at the same rate and exactly together"). We are like worker bees (specialized to collect food and maintain the hive) as we grocery shop, cook, clean house & take care of our 3 dogs and Jenn's husband. We are best friends, living under the same roof, who have developed our own brand of sist(a) wives - not to be confused with the Mormon term sist(er) wife. It's kind of like that, in the sense that we help each other out with all things domestic, but as Richelle states, " I  don't get any of the perks." Sorry girl, but there is only one wifey-poo gettin' perks in this household. But hey, Richelle will get her own perks out in the dating world... We'll keep this co-habitation clean, except for the langauge (as we can both give sailors and truck drivers a run for their money). No, we are not proud of this unsavory behavior and neither is Jenn's husband nor our parents, but we are who we are and we are not changing. We'll see how it goes, but for now... ¡Viva! sista-wife-hood!!!

Our Herstory

This story is about two chicks who used to live, laugh and have fun together in New York City - then grew up (well, that's debatable) and lived their separate lives while remaining the best of friends over the years. Presently, we have found ourselves to be roomates once again and so this blog is about our zany, weekly adventures as we have fun, try to at healthy, lose weight and go crazy trying... and then splurge big time on our cheat day. It's all about cheat day.
